United To Dip In The Loan Market

It comes as no surprise that Leeds will try to do at least some business in the loan window now that it has opened. United have signed 89 players on loan since 2004. Now that figure is outstanding to say the least!

Uwe Rosler made it no secret that he wouldn't be afraid to make a move for some players in the loan window if they weren't able to get them in the summer. Leeds were hoping to sign a centre back however, nothing materialised due to the fact that no-one in the centre back position was shipped out. Giuseppe Bellusci did receive plenty of interest from Italy which came as no surprise but I think he is a player the management team were happy to keep a hold of.

Leeds have been linked to Mike Williamson of Newcastle and Kyle Lafferty from Norwich this loan window and it'll be interesting to see if either of those moves come off but one thing is for certain, the team needs strength in depth and cover. If not, they will have to rely on the fixtures to keep on our good side (which rarely ever happens) and for the players to stay free from injury.

Following on from possibly the best transfer window Leeds have had in years, they'll surely be confident to give the fans something more to cheer with a few quality yet, surprising (maybe?) additions in the loan window, Cellino is not short of cash it seems. Roll on Brentford and the coming weeks I say!

  1. 89 loan signings, 80 of them a disaster all of which have held this club back for 10 years and hampered the development of our own youth.
Coyle, Denton, Killock, Skelton, Purver, Dawson, Walters, Parkin, Stokes and more all chomping at the bit yet some Leeds fans are asking for more loans, have you forgotten Habbibu, Cipaldi, Cani etc? ???????
