CELLINO OUT - TIME TO ACT

I am not here to inspire you. I am here to write a clear and simple message. I want Massimo Cellino to sell my football club. I want my football club back. We've said this for many years and we should still be persistent in fighting for what is rightfully a part of our lives. He has caused too much controversy and bad publicity to my football club. He has treated us like a rag doll and hasn't showed any respect to the biggest part of Leeds United, the fans. Therefore I for one am going to do everything in my power to make myself heard. To make sure the owner knows that I am in full support of the football club - not him. To make sure he knows he deserves absolutely zero respect from any supporter of Leeds United. Its time to act. Leeds Fans Utd, Leeds United Supporters Trust, and the fans of Leeds United Football Club all need to unite and push Cellino into the opposite direction. Marching On Together?

  1. To be clear it isn't your football club it is his. He bought it, he is paying the bills and he runs it as he sees fit. You, like me are a customer of his business no matter how emotionally charged we feel about the club, they are unfortunately the facts. If you think Cellino should go and there are many supports that do and many that don't then it is no good just demanding he leaves. You must propose an alternative to owning and controlling the club that would produce better results. Bear in mind GFH aren't going to give up their claim on their shares or the money they say they are owed just because Cellino leaves. Transparency is what we need to find out what crippling debts GFH inflicted on the club and then a more reasoned judgement on Cellino could be achieved. If as it seems to be clear the debts were in excess of £25m and GFH were paying themselves £1.5m / month to administer the debt then it may be reasonable to go after them first to leave the club. I don't hear too much clamour to oust them from most fans yet it is they who've created the financial mess that stops us buying decent players, buying the ground and TA.

  2. Sensible post. I haven't read many on this subject but yours is a considered appraisal, unlike the author who appears to be like so many others challenged in some way

  5. Actually I agree with The Mighty Leeds. In many ways the club is owned by the fans. They invest emotionally and financially over many years. The club could certainly cope and do much better without MESSimo, but could not without the 25,000 faithful as well as many, many more who would return if there was a good product on the field. I have heard many criticise GFH, just like Cellino, and neither are welcome at the club I have loved since 1972.
I advocate peaceful and respectful protest, but it must be concerted and organised. Those who decide not to go any more until he is gone should write letters in their thousands making that very point. Those who faithfully attend should wholeheartedly support the team. But when MESSimo breaks yet another promise by attending home fixtures, the crowd should consistently let him know it is time to go. I see Liverpool fans protest has won a ticket price freeze.
I do not believe for a second that there are no willing buyers out there. I have also been quite impressed with LFU. I believe a shrewd new owner could financially dilute GFH holding in LUFC. MESSimo claims to own 81 percent. If a new owner insisted that all profits go back into the club, it would not seem so attractive to Greedy False Hustlers!
Krasner, Bates, GFH, Cellino; it is like our club has been hit by one virus after another! It is time this great club was run properly so that it could once again reach it's potential.

  7. I agree totally with Ellandback btw, well constructed points! Something Leeds are severely lacking this season.
